About the employer
Tom Thumb Nursery
The nursery prides itself on the welcoming and loving environment they have created for both children and parents and has a wonderful highly qualified team who love to watch children grow and learn. The nurseries team is over 80% qualified with the remaining staff undertaking training to achieve an NVQ and are fully first aid and basic food hygiene trained, a majority of our team have been working with us for years, they like the children, never want to leave!! The nursery has an amazing EYFS lead who not only a qualified teacher but is also an Early Years professional and the settings Special educational needs co-ordinator. She is a real asset to the Tom Thumb team and is fully involved in the settings planning and children’s developmental targets. We love to keep parents updated with photos and videos of what your child does at nursery each day and we use these to form your child’s own individual learning journey that becomes a real keepsake of the time they spend at nursery.
The nursery is set over three floors all of which have a classroom/playroom with an extensive range of equipment and creative materials for the children’s use. We believe that children get the most benefit from playing and exploring with everyday objects and have a wide range of exploratory equipment that lets them discover and learn at their own pace. The outside environment is an all-weather garden and has opportunities to be used as a rich learning environment. We all love to get messy, so our sand and mud areas are always popular as is our water wall and art fence where the children can paint and draw and get creative with the outdoors.
