Ella Buckley

Pre-Apprentice of the Year

Ella is a Long-Term Gardener on a Traineeship at Dunham Massey Hall and Gardens. Ella works in these gardens helping create beautiful public spaces, which she helps maintain to an award-winning standard which has helped gained public recognition.

Tinysaurus Nursery

Employer of the Year

Tinysaurus Nursery has been offering apprenticeships in partnership with YMCA Training over the last 11 years – delivering a total of more than 300 successful programmes in this time. Due to its commitment to apprenticeships – the time and money invested in creating a bespoke offering – it has been awarded the Central YMCA ‘Employer of the Year’ apprenticeship award.

Estelle Leake

Tutor of the Year

Estelle was looking at progressing further into her career, and that is when she found YMCA Training Doncaster. Estelle started off as a YMCA tutor, where her job entailed inductions and functional skills maths. Following a restructure in August 2016, just before she went on maternity leave, Estelle was offered the role of GCSE tutor for maths, which she accepted and started post-maternity in March 2016.

Phillip Start

Apprentice of the Year

Philip left sixth form with the desire to pursue a career in the fitness industry and worked his way through some tough obstacles to become a fitness instructor. Leaving sixth form with BTEC qualifications, Philip knew that university was not for him – he believed the apprenticeship route was a lot more practical and efficient at attaining the qualities and knowledge he needed to successfully becoming a fitness instructor.
